We Scream for free CHOCOLATE!

Scharffen Berger is one of a handful of vendors helping to support Cupcake Camp LA.
They are providing free chocolate to all bakers who simply "asked" for free chocolate.

What's the catch?
NOTHING! They shipped the chocolate free of charge, and only ask that we display a small tent card saying we used Scharffen Berger chocolate in our recipes.

HOW HARD IS THAT?

Thanks Colleen (at Scharffen) for my chocolate. It arrived perfectly!

... and we're darn proud about it too! :)

Cupcake Camp LA (here we come)

Thanks to Ms. Babette, of Bakespace.com, we will be participating in one of the greatest "cupcake" events to hit Los Angeles, EVER!

Acting on a tip from a great friend (thanks again Kris), I emailed Babette to inquire if there was room for one more anxious baker, to participate in this great event.... and she replied yes!

We will be debuting 1 new, holiday flavor for the event, and also showcasing 2 of our fan favorites. Although the event itself is not a full on competition, we will be participating in a chance to win a trophy for "Most LA" cupcake (the meaning is left up to ones own interpretation).

Amateur bakers bring 100 cupcakes.... Professional bakers bring 350.
MDJ will be bringing 350 (go big or go home, right?)

What's in a name....?

So many have asked, why My Dessert Jones?

Simple, my last name is Jones, and all of the desserts made are (well) mine.
You know how you can say that you have a 'jones' for something. Well, I thought, why not have a "dessert jones" about anything dessert related.
And then, once you discovered whatever that 'jones' is.. why not have me create it for you to enjoy, and experience, in my own special way.

My Dessert Jones knows a lot about making people smile!

Here we are... the Re-Grand Blog-Opening!!!

(Ok, so here's a little bit of background)

I've tried this "blog" thing before. I actually LOVE it.
I guess the hardest part about this particular blog, is trying to keep it strictly "business" related. All of my blogs in the past have been about my life (all inclusive)... so forgive me if this blog is only about MDJ (shorthand for My Dessert Jones). Anyhoot, I figured the best way (and time) to give this blog a JUMP START would be because of Cupcake Camp LA.

This event will be the first large scale event that we've ever been apart of. Oh, yeah, we've baked and baked and baked. Served, catered and wowed! We've frosted, decorated and beautified MANY desserts, but never any like this. Not only are we baking our FABULOUS cupcakes, we'll be accompanying many of LA's top professional and amateur bakers (and I think the latter will be kicking some professional butt).
